Plant Good Seeds

6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. 7Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:6-10 NKJV

Have you ever planted a seed?  A corn seed is designed so that if you plant and water it, it becomes a corn plant. You will never get beans or tomatoes, just corn.

It is the same way with human seeds. If you want love, you have to plant seeds of love. You cannot plant money or manipulation and expect to get love in return....it just doesn't work. The Bible says, "For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7).  Whatever you plant, that is what you will receive in return.

Some of us may be looking back on our lives and saying, "It is too late for me. I have spent my life sowing the wrong kinds of seed."  If a farmer unknowingly plants bad seeds, he will get a bad crop.  However, the farmer knows that there is always another spring.  Because of his lost time, he will work harder to make sure that he plants good seeds next time.

Planting is a difficult job; it requires much time and effort. You won't see the results instantly. After a seed has been planted in the ground, it looks like there is no life. But when you have almost given up on it, there emerges a little seedling, bringing new life and giving hope to the one who planted it.

Prayer:

“Lord Jesus, thank you that your mercies are new every morning.  Great is your faithfulness and love toward me.  Thank you for saving me through your sacrifice on the cross.  Please forgive me for the time and resources I’ve wasted in sowing to my flesh.  I desire to live by the guidance of the Holy Spirit from today forward.  Please lead me and teach me how to sow to the Spirit and reap heavenly rewards.  I praise you and thank you, Jesus!  In your name I pray, Amen.”
